UCI Launches into a Brilliant Future
In an ongoing commitment to give the world a Brilliant Future, the University of California, Irvine launched the largest philanthropic and alumni engagement endeavor in the history of Orange County on October 4, 2019—a campaign to raise $2 billion. Hot Off the Press: Queering the Orange Exhibit
The UCI Libraries’ Diversity Team, in conjunction with Special Collections and Archives, created an exhibit about the LGBTQ experience in Orange County since the 1960s, entitledQueering the Orange: Finding Community and Building LGBTQ Culture in Irvine, Orange County, and Online. The exhibit provided a local and regional glimpse of the incredible cultural shift surrounding LGBTQ communities over the past 60 years. The exhibit ran on the 5th floor of the Langson Library from July to mid-October 2019 and was popular across campus and county-wide. For further information, see exhibit write-ups in the Daily Pilot and the OC Register. UCI Libraries curators for this exhibit were Kelsey Brown, Carolyn Downey, Josh Hutchinson and John Renaud.
