Gerry Munoff and Dolores Grunigen Dolores Grunigen, a Premier Partner, hosted a special dinner to recognize the generous support of the Premier Partners of the UCI Libraries. The event was held at the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Center on January 20. Guests enjoyed cocktails and dinner at the delightful center, followed by a discussion of the vital role played by the UCI Libraries to the success of the campus and the community. "I am very pleased to share with others the critical role of the libraries to the campus and the community, said Grunigen. “I became involved with the Libraries because of my passion for learning, knowledge, and books, and I encourage others to do so too." University Librarian Gerry Munoff gave an update on the Libraries’ recent accomplishments and shared his vision of the role of the Libraries. "The Libraries are fundamentally about people, helping people learn, and the creation and sharing of new knowledge," he said. "It's vital that the Libraries continue to grow to support UCI's research mission at the level required of a prestigious university." Betsy Warden, Jack Langson and Rosalyn Laudati Support from the Premier Partners helps the Libraries to acquire exceptional books and leading journals, to purchase the very best online materials, to offer innovative new reference services, and to offer the Libraries' popular public programs. A highlight of the evening was a presentation by four research librarians who described a number of print and electronic resources from the Libraries' collections and discussed their importance for scholarly research and instruction.
