Need more information on healthy living and medical conditions? A new Web-based resource designed to help patients, their families, and the general public find health information is now available on the Libraries' Website or at https://grunigen.lib.uci.edu/subject-guides. Click on Consumer Health. The new Consumer Health Subject Guide helps fill a gap for health professionals and consumers alike in that it provides easy access to health information that is authoritative and up to date.

The guide has extensive information from the National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health, recognized health organizations, and other trusted sources. There is information on how to find and evaluate health information found on the Internet. Other information includes links to key health information sources on common diseases and conditions, medical dictionaries and encyclopedias, information on prescription and nonprescription drugs, and links to an wide array of Web sources for children's, men's, minorities', seniors', and women's health issues.

On the UCI Medical Center campus in Orange, the Grunigen Medical Library (GML) also assists patients, their families, and consumers with health information through its reference service and extensive print and online medical collections. Journals, medical references, books and other resources are available to the public. In addition, the GML is a participating library of the National Library of Medicine's Loansome Doc program that fills requests from community users for journal articles found in PubMed, the most complete online source for published medical journal articles.
