Collection Endowments
For those who wish to make a more meaningful investment in knowledge, we invite you to consider a special opportunity to endow a collection fund. The ongoing source of funds provides critical support for the acquisition, processing, and preservation of new print and electronic library collections that advance UCI’s excellence in teaching and research. For generations to come, your endowment will be recognized, and your gift will be appreciated.
- General Collection Endowments allow the Libraries to acquire materials across all academic disciplines and respond to areas of greatest need. Collection endowments can also be targeted directly to the donor’s passion for a particular subject area.
- Named Collection Endowments are a unique way to recognize and honor family members, friends, and others with an enduring legacy, and also convey your personal commitment to learning and knowledge.
With a gift of $50,000 or more, you can establish a fund in your name or in honor of someone special. The gift to establish a collection endowment may be fulfilled over a period of up to five years.
A webpage is created that describes the fund, and a digital bookplate and recognition note are added to the online catalog record of each title acquired with the fund. For generations to come, each time the book record is viewed, the donor is recognized and their gift appreciated. Donors receive much recognition, but the greatest reward is the satisfaction of knowing that you will be supporting the intellectual work of UCI Faculty and students now and for generations to come.
